Step 1: Demand the Actual Recycled Content Data (Don't Assume)

The first thing a supplier will do is talk about sustainability. You need to look past the soundbite. Many companies claim their packaging is 'sustainable,' but we need specific, verifiable data.

Do not ask, 'Are you sustainable?' Ask, 'What is your average post-consumer recycled content across your aluminum can sheet, and is it third-party verified?'

  • Labeling & Decoration: Digital print vs. shrink sleeve vs. litho. What is the lead time and minimum order quantity (MOQ) for complex designs? Many suppliers are great at standard silver cans, but print quality is another ballgame.

If you are a mid-sized craft brewery, you don't just need a can. You need a can that stacks well on a retail shelf and doesn't collapse when the pallet is wrapped.
